Cordia, Coached by Gary Kassee, came to Jackson sporting a 2-2 record to face the Lady Bobcats who had stumbled out of the gate after a season opening win. The Lady Cats had dropped 6 in a row. Breathitt wasted little time getting the upper hand against the Lady Lions jumping out to a 15-4 1st quarter lead. Emily Neace led the Lady Cats with 7 first quarter points.
Breathitt would increase their lead going in to the half leading 28 – 13. The Lady Cats were lead in scoring at halftime by Emily Neace with 15 points. Riley Bush had 3, Kaylee Ritchie dropped in 4, Maddie Haddix had 2, and Brenly Gross finished out the 1st half with 4 Points. Cordia was led by point guard Aaliyah Gibson with 8 points. Krista Lewis tallied 3, and Madison Combs had 2 points.
Breathitt came out on fire in the third putting up 20 points for a 48-17 lead at the end of 3 quarters. Kaylee Ritchie paced the Lady Cats with 7 third quarter points.
Breathitt would cruise to a 55-30 win. Breathitt next plays in the Hyden Citizens Bank Classic Wednesday Dec. 21st. Cordia plays at Lee County Friday Dec. 23rd.
Scoring for Lady Bobcats: Riley Bush – 5pts, Kaylee Ritchie – 11pts, Maddie Haddix – 7pts, Emily Neace – 15pts, Brenly Gross – 6pts, Lexie Combs – 4pts, Brooklyn Brewer – 5pts, Charlie Stacy – 2pts and Harper Allen rounded out Breathitt’s scoring with 2 points.
Scoring for the Lady Lions: Kristin Lewis – 4pts, Aaliyah Gibson – 19pts, Makenzie Allen – 3pts, Justine Perkins – 2pts, and Madison Combs finished with 2 pts.
