We enter the first round of the Elite 8 here at the UK Healthcare Boys’ Sweet 16 at the historic Rupp Arena. Each of these team come out of the gate hot looking to be the first one to secure their spot in the Final Four tomorrow night, with 4:15 left before the half Lincoln County is up by 11 points against North Oldham. As we get ready to enter this 2nd half of basketball Lincoln is looking to keep growing their lead and punch that spot into the Final Four, one major thing that you’re able to easily notice during this first game is the North Oldham student section, not just today but all week so far they have had one of this highest attendance rating for students in this tournament we will see if all the push they are giving their team will help out in the end. After three quarters of basketball Lincoln County has started to pull away in this one with a 16-point lead against North Oldham but as we have saw anything is possible in this last 8 minutes of the game. 3:17 left to play and North Oldham has been able to cut from being down 16 points to 10, but time is ticking down for the Mustangs with now only 1:42 before the end of the game. The buzzer sounds the Lincoln County is going to their 1st Final Four in school history, they will face the winner of George Rogers Clarks & Pikeville that is set to play here at 1:30 PM. During the post-game conference Lincoln stated, “no matter the outcome of this next game after us we will be ready for whatever we are thrown and will play her hearts out at the end day not just for us but, for our community, family and friends.”
