North Laurel vs. Pikeville 3.16.22
We enter the last game of today between North Laurel & Pikeville, both sides have brought in the crowds for this game. The energy of the room is loud and ready to cheer on their team to victory, we will be able to see if the fans are able to give one of the teams a little more of a push. With 3:36 left to play before halftime Pikeville is up by 10 points against North Laurel, let’s see if they are able to dig some in this lead before going into the locker room for the half. As each team comes out of the locker room and gears up for this 2nd half of basketball each team are wondering two different things. 1:58 left to play here in the 3rd quarter and it looks like the Pikeville is starting to pull away in this last game of day 1 here at the Boys’ Sweet 16. Folks, only 8 minutes stand between finding out who punch that last spot for the Elite 8 Friday night, North Laurel is down 11 points with 6:28 left to play here in this last quarter of basketball at the UK Healthcare Boys’ Sweet 16. North Laurel comes back with a drive to the paint to draw then foul “and one” to bring them within 7 points to even the odds and have a chance to take the lead against Pikeville will they have enough time to do that though. After a hard-fought battle between both teams Pikeville was able to pull it off for the 8-point win against North Laurel.
