Peterson, Moore with Double-Digit Kills for Dayton
KINGSTON, R.I. – The University of Dayton volleyball team won its 14th-straight match Saturday with a 3-1 (14-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23) victory at Rhode Island. Senior Jamie Peterson and sophomore Amelia Moore each tallied double-digit kills for the Flyers in the win.
Dayton is now 20-5 on the season, the program’s 33rd 20-win season, and the Flyers remain undefeated in Atlantic 10 play at 13-0. Rhode Island moves to 11-16 overall and 3-8 in league matches.
KEY STATS
• 40 & 16 – sophomore Livie Sandt posted her fifth double-double of the season with 40 assists and a team-high 16 digs to go with four kills and a .444 hitting percentage
• 16 – Peterson led all attackers with a match-high 16 kills to go with five blocks and five digs
• 13 – Moore was one off her career high with 13 kills while swinging at .500
• 11 – senior Maura Collins got under 11 digs
• 7 – Moore led the Flyer block with seven stuffs on the night
UP NEXT
Dayton will close out the home portion of its 2021 schedule next weekend with matches against George Mason and George Washington. The Flyers and Patriots will square off at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 followed by Senior Day against the Colonials on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. Both contests will be played at Frericks Center and admission is free.
