LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 9, 2021) — Claire Dzan, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Preston White, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, were crowned the University of Kentucky Homecoming queen and king during the halftime ceremonies at the UK vs. Louisiana Sate University Homecoming football game at Kroger Field Saturday night.  

Claire Dzan is a senior majoring in neuroscience and Spanish on the pre-medicine track. Her parents are Justin and Stacie Dzan. She currently serves as the president of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and the director of the Wildcat Wardrobe at UK. 

Preston White is a senior and Global Scholar in the Gatton College of Business and Economics and Lewis Honors College seeking degrees in economics and finance and a minor in international business. He is the son of Jeff White and Holly Harrell. White is an active member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and DanceBlue Morale Committee. 

Homecoming Court is an important tradition at the University of Kentucky. Students are nominated to the court by their peers, and it is a great way to highlight outstanding members of the campus community. The winners were determined by student voting earlier this week. 

Other finalists for king and queen were: 

• Amelia Burnett, daughter of William Burnett and Sandra Hope, a junior from Saratoga Springs, Utah. She is pursuing a major in computer science and a double minor in piano performance and math. She is currently Engineering Student Council’s secretary, Women’s Association of Computing Machinery’s (ACM-W) social chair and UK Creativity Club’s secretary. 
• Breona Link, a senior from Bowling Green, Kentucky, majoring in clinical leadership and management. She has a minor in health advocacy as well as an undergraduate research certificate in human health sciences. Link is the daughter of Leon and Angela Link. She was nominated by the Student Activities Board where she serves as this year’s president. 
• Molly Catherine Sullivan, a senior triple majoring in agricultural economics, marketing and management. She is from Campbellsville, Kentucky, and is the daughter of Chad and Carol Sullivan. Sullivan is representing Delta Gamma, Student Philanthropy Board and Sigma Nu as their chapter sweetheart.
   
• Savannah Miller, a senior majoring in human health sciences with two minors in art studio and gender and women’s studies. She is the daughter of Carl and Judy Miller from Hazard, Kentucky. Miller is a member of Delta Gamma sorority, serves on Panhellenic Council as vice president of member education, is chapter president of Order of Omega Honor Society, and is a member of DanceBlue’s Programming Committee.
• Gabriel Savage, from Louisville, the son of Tiarra and Maurice Savage, a fourth-year student at the University of Kentucky. He is double majoring in political science and business marketing with a minor in philosophy. 
   
• Jeremy Middleton, the son of Jeff and Jackie Middleton, a senior from Salisbury, Maryland, who now considers Lexington home. He is studying integrated strategic communication on the public relations path with a minor in business. He works at the UK Visitor Center as a tour guide and he is also the vice president of promotions for the Student Activities Board.
   
• Trey Coburn, a junior studying biology with an Appalachian studies minor and a member of the Lewis Honors College. He is the son of Molly and Scott Coburn. Coburn is involved in Phi Delta Epsilon and the Appalachian Health Initiative. He also serves as a resident advisor, is an undergraduate researcher in the Gentry Lab and is a tour guide in the UK Visitor Center.
• Sean Blackburn, a senior currently on track to graduate with an economics degree from the College of Arts and Sciences this spring. He is the youngest child of parents Kim and David Blackburn. Blackburn has served as a Student Government Association senator at large as well as vice president and social chair of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
   

Earlier this week, Joel Paul Jr., a kinesiology junior from Orlando, Florida, and Alayna Tobo, a broadcast journalism sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia, were crowned Mr. and Ms. Black UK. The Mr. and Ms. Black UK Scholarship Pageant is presented annually by the Black Student Union and the Mu Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
