The Louisville Cardinals (3-2) fresh off of a nail biting heartbreaking loss to nationally ranked Wake Forest (5-0) this past weekend will return home this Saturday looking to get back on track against The Virginia Cavaliers (3-2) who is coming off of a impressive 30-28 victory over Miami who was playing without star QB Deriq King.
Although the Cardinals lost a tough one on the road in a hostile environment, one thing that was shown to all of the Cards fans out there is that this team is able to compete on the national level. This bounce back will be key for the Cards to get back on track and put the inconsistent woes behind them. Getting back home and playing against another tough ACC foe could not only give them the confidence moving forward, but would also put them battling for position atop of the ACC. Junior Quarterback Malik Cunningham has been carrying the load so far this season not only in the air (7 passing touchdowns) but with his feet as well recording 10 rushing touchdowns this season so far.
The Virginia Cavaliers will try and slow down Louisville’s high powered offense which many teams have not been able to do this season with the Cards averaging over 32 PPG this season. This game will come down to whoever can buckle down and get stops. I think Cunningham and the Cards rushing attack will be too much for the Cavaliers this weekend, I have the cards taking this one 28-21.
