The Kentucky Football team looks to continue their impressive start to the season hosting The University of Tennessee Chattanooga Mocs from the Southern Conference this Saturday September 18th, 2021. Entering the season expectations were set high as many experts thought Kentucky had the chance to win ten games or more and have the fan base excited about Kentucky Football. So far Kentucky has delivered on the high expectations starting the season 2 and 0 with impressive wins against University of Louisiana Monroe Hawks and defeating SEC East Divisional opponent Missouri Tigers. Kentucky is in unfamiliar territory currently setting in first place in SEC East Standings,
Kentucky is led by a balanced attack throwing the ball and rushing. Penn State Transfer Quarterback Will Levis has brought the Air raid offense to Kroger Field and another Transfer from Nebraska Wan’ dale Robinson has electrified the fans with outstanding receiving plays and returning balls on the Kick return. Levis has a big arm in his first two games has been impressive throwing downfield, although Levis is known as a capable quarterback throwing, he can also hurt defenses scrambling around often resulting in First downs. Running Back Chris Rodriguez is turning into one of the premier backs in all the SEC and continues to be a fan favorite for the CATS.
Chattanooga competing in the Southern Conference will also enter the matchup with the CATS with a one win and one loss on the season. The Mocs lost the opening game of the season hosting Austin Peay 30-20 and avenged the loss with a week two win playing North Alabama. Chattanooga will be a huge underdog entering the contest, but it is possible for the Mocs to pull a monumental upset. The Mocs are led by a dual quarterback system with QB Drayton. Arnold being 11 for 26 on the season passing for a combined 130 yards, 1 touchdown, and two interceptions. The Other QB Cole. Copeland is 10-21 passing with 98 passing yards and no takedowns and two interceptions. The Mocs will also rely on Running Backs Ford, Ailym and Price Terrell to attempt to get in the Kentucky secondary and move the chains. Both backs have over 100 yards rushing each on the season, and Ford leads the Rushing attack with a 174 rushing yards on the season two touchdowns.
Kentucky’s new look offense under new Offensive Coordinator Liam Cohen has been explosive averaging forty points per game and are capable of scoring in a flurry. So far on the season Kentucky is averaging 537.5 yards of total offense per game. Quarterback Will Levis is 28-44 on the season and passing for 546 combined yards, with five touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. I look for the CATS to continue to throw downfield, torching the MOCS defense. Levis’s favorite target is Frankfort, KY Native Wan’ dale Robinson. Robinson currently has ten catches on the season for 226 yards and two touchdowns. Robinson’s long reception is 63 yards and is averaging 113 yards of receiving per game. To keep the Offense balanced Kentucky will pound the ball to Chris Rodriguez. Rodriguez is off to a phenomenal start to the season rushing for a combined 323 yards on 46 carries racking up three Touchdowns and 161.50 yards per game.
If Kentucky plays like their expected, Kentucky should cruise to an easy victory over Chattanooga. My prediction is Kentucky will dominate the game and prevail with a 52-10 victory.
